The Bariatric Team of Perth Bariatrics would like to take the opportunity to introduce you to our comprehensive program. We understand that obesity is a disease and it is all of our goals as a team to assist those who are afflicted with this epidemic. We truly understand that it is a major decision to have weight loss surgery. Dr Geoff Braimbridge - Specialist Anesthetist

Dr Braimbridge trained in Perth and has over 25 years
of experience in all areas of anaesthesia. He began his private practice in 1983 and has extensive experience
at Kalgorlie Regional Hosital. He gives his patients the highest level of care not only during the surgery but preoperatively and postoperatively as well. He has a
keen sense of humour that is always appreciated by everyone who meets him!! His rooms are at

Jocelyn - Business Manager - Registered Nurse, BScN

Jocelyn has over 10 years of Intensive Care Experience as a nurse in a variety of practice settings throughout the United States and Canada. Her main focus was nursing surgical patients and she quite enjoys the teaching aspect of preoperative as well as postoperative care, which she provides to Dr Padovan's patients. During her time in North America, Jocelyn nursed many Bariatric Patients in over 10 States while she was a specialized travel nurse. Her broad experience provides an innovative nursing approach to health care.

Stephanie (Steph) - Receptionist

Steph is a crucial member of the team. Being that the practice is almost completely computerized, Steph has become an expert with the computer system and keeps the team well organized! She has experience working in a variety of clinical practice settings in the Rockingham Area, and has attended numerous courses with the Australian Medical Association and Business Courses in Medical Accounting.

Steph can be reached in Dr. Padovan's main rooms at Waikiki Specialist Centre Monday through Friday 8:30AM - 4:30PM.

Debra Wicks - Nutrtionist/Dietitian

Overview

Debra has been providing dietary counselling and education in the Peel region since November 2004, when she started her own private practice. The vast majority of patients she sees are for weight reduction and associated health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. She councels clients who have chosen to undertake Lap Band and other Gastric Surgery Treatment for weight reduction and has helped this client population to achieve a healthy dietary intake to facilitate desired weight loss as well as the maintenance of weight loss.

As an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, Debra is committed to ongoing professional development ensuring the best possible outcomes for her clients. Debra and her family have enjoyed living in Mandurah since 1999 and she is especially committed to supporting the community through her profession.

Clinton Joynes - Exercise Physiologist

B Sc (Sports Science)

Clinton is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who
has been working within the rehabilitation field for
10 years. He initially commenced working as a
personal trainer and now specializes in
prescribing exercise programmes for individuals
who are in need of a safe and effective routine
that pertains to their health issues .

Data suggests that physical inactivity increases the incidence of at least 19 unhealthy conditions. This is an alarming statistic considering that 54% of the population is not active enough to achieve any health benefit.

As of January 1. 2006, the Australian government recognized this concern granting Accredited Exercise Physiologists eligibility to Medicare's Enhanced Primary Care Scheme. The Australian Division of General Practice believes "the decision to include Exercise Physiologists will boost the quality of care available to patients with chronic disease".
